SPINNER and its partner have equipped the Senckenberg Tower high-rise office development in Frankfurt am Main with a passive 4G multi-operator in-house system. SPINNER thus once again ensures optimum mobile reception in a building with complex architecture for all standard mobile networks. Visitors, employees, or residents are not dependent on Wi-Fi within the tower block.
The Senckenberg Tower – also known as the 99 West project – has 26 floors and is almost 106 m high with a rental area of approx. 27,000 sqm. SPINNER’s equipment, which controls the reception of mobile communications throughout the building, is located in the second basement level. From there, every floor is supplied with an optimum mobile signal using 414 antennas distributed throughout the tower.
In order not to disturb the overall appearance of the building, the barely visible SPINNER chip antennas have been used.

A particular challenge was represented by the building’s metalized ceiling coatings. However, this issue could be solved by installing SPINNER’s antenna absorbers. These absorbers block the signal reflections from these metalized ceilings. The antennas’ emission performance is maintained and optimal coverage is guaranteed.

Another important issue was the mobile phone coverage in the elevators in the building. To enable people to get from the underground car park to their offices without a break in the mobile connection, a radiating cable with its own sector was installed in the elevator shafts. These radiating cables enable continuous mobile reception. There are no more call or data interruptions during the elevator journey, and the time to the office can be optimally used.
This passive technology does not incur any additional costs for electricity or maintenance for mobile reception within the building. Every installed SPINNER product is future-oriented and fitted with a frequency range of up to 4 GHz.
