In-building solutions are the most efficient and cost-effective way to ensure the availability of mobile coverage throughout buildings. They involve combining the required operator bands and distributing them to the antennas via a shared Distributed Antenna System (DAS). This approach is cost-effective because passive systems are considerably cheaper than their active counterparts. Passive systems also don’t incur any additional costs: they require no power or air conditioning, don’t produce any annoying background noise, don’t need to be serviced, never become obsolete … the list goes on.
Inquiries from our customers confirm that there is growing demand for 5G bands up to 3800 MHz in buildings. In the past, the only way to achieve this was to cascade multiple multiband combiners. The currently popular workaround involves using a diplexer to merge the legacy mobile frequencies up to 2700 MHz with the upper band between 3300 and 3800 MHz, and then output them via a shared link. This approach comes at a cost, however; the drawbacks include additional PIM, reflection and, greater insertion losses.
But no longer! The new SPINNER hexaplexer elegantly combines the bands 700-800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz , 2600 MHz and the range between 3300 and 3800 MHz in a single device. The benefits are obvious: excellent passive intermodulation, reduced risk of reflection problems at transitions, and especially reduced insertion losses (by about 0.5 dB throughout the system). This adds up to an ideal basis for your passive in-building system.
