At SPINNER we take pride in being one of the world’s leading suppliers of RF systems for broadcasting. We supply DTV-rollouts all over the world and know the challenges of large-scale and nationwide deployments. Our production capacity is extremely high - over 1000 complex multichannel combining and switching systems per year. Over the last 70 years, we have built up the experience, portfolio and infrastructure it takes to deliver.
Transmitter power levels in the USA are among the highest in the world. SPINNER supplies many of its signature products in sizes up to 9 3/16”, including the patented Antenna Monitoring System (AMS) and our original Direct Access Units. Our switches already had the highest power handling for any given line size but now we have taken it even further and introduce the world’s first 8-3/16” switch. With a walloping 120 kW of power handling this switch is a viable alternative to waveguides.
SPINNER will be exhibiting at the NAB Show 2019 in Las Vegas from April 08–11, booth C1336.
SPINNER has developed an Antenna Monitoring System that detects even minor problems, so they can be fixed before a major failure occurs. This unique technology watches over the entire antenna system, from the feeder input all the way through to the top of the antenna (even through splitters). AMS helps reduce maintenance costs, prevent damage and safeguard your investment. Available in 1-5/8”, 3-1/8”, 4-1/2”, 6-1/8”, 7-3/16”, 8-3/16” and 9-3/16”.
A live demonstration at our booth will show you the benefits of the SPINNER AMS.
These devices are typically installed at the top of feeder lines and allow easy galvanic access for measurements up towards the antenna and down towards the transmitter. Our Direct Access Units have a negligible impact on the signal and save time and money during phasing and regular maintenance measurements. Available in 1-5/8”, 3-1/8”, 4-1/2”, 6-1/8”, 7-3/16”, 8-3/16” and 9-3/16”.
SPINNER has a complete line of coaxial switches with unrivalled power handling, switching speed and reliability. All our broadcast switches come with true interlock signaling as well as position signaling. Available in N, 7-16, 7/8”, 1 5/8”, 3 1/8”, 4 1/16”, 4 1/2”, 6 1/8” and 8 3/16”.
Our energy efficient Smart Loads might make you wonder how you got by in the past with dummy loads. SPINNER Smart Loads feature full interlock support and internal health monitoring combined with temperature-controlled cooling circuits. Available powers include 10 kW, 25 kW, 50 kW and 55 kW and we have version with internal and with external heat exchangers.
SPINNER is perhaps best known for its beautifully engineered systems of the utmost quality. These are typically highly customized and integrated designs built from a large portfolio of standardized components. Completely factory tested and ready to go, they systems save a lot of time and money on site. On display is a one rack solution with 25kW constant impedance filtering, three port path panel and integrated AMS.
The line sizes 7 3/16”, 8 3/16” and sometimes 6 1/8” have an impedance of 75 Ω. This raises the question on how to measure them with conventional 50 Ω analyzers. Enter SPINNERs line of 75 Ω adapters from N to 6 1/8”, 7 3/16” and 8 3/16”, compact 4in1 calibration kits and single reference standards.
SPINNER’s ultra-compact slip-ring/fiber-optic combinations with small dimensions enable interference-free video data transmission in 4K and 8K quality even with fast-moving images. They are ideal for low-profile applications, since they ensure the critical minimum fiber bending radius and unit length. This is why manufacturers of leading-edge cable-suspended camera systems rely on SPINNER.
