Customized RF Measurement Cables for IM Measurement

Good PIM characteristics in a mobile radio communication measurement environment are key for reasonable and reliable measurement results. In order to achieve an acceptable measurement accuracy, all components must be at least 10 dB better than the value of the test item to be obtained. The requirements for a system consisting of several components are demanding and there are many sources of errors.

Troubleshooting in a PIM measurement environment is time-consuming and expensive. In this respect in particular, the purchase of first-class components amortizes very quickly. The reason for this: the better and the more reliable the measurement components are, the less time you will spend with costly troubleshooting. The individual components must therefore meet the highest technical requirements to be able to set up a system with which measured values of approx. -160 or -165 dBc can be guaranteed.

The weakness in many measurement systems is the PIM measurement cables, and, to solve this problem, SPINNER has accomplished something extraordinary. Our SF1/2" and SF3/8" measurement cables are beyond -170 dBc and ensure these values even in motion. The cables are electrically optimized for PIM measurements and the higher mechanical load in measurement environments is also taken into account. An extended and stabilizing bend protection relieves the cable behind the support and harmonizes the bending line accordingly. This increases the useful life of the measurement cables significantly.

Each measurement environment is different. The lengths and connector systems of the components involved vary. Sometimes, it even makes sense to directly equip a measurement cable with a special connector (e.g. male right angle). For this purpose, SPINNER can also offer you customized solutions. Thanks to the introduction of sales item numbers, you can order your individual jumper or your individual measurement cable very easily.

The sales item number consists of the cable type, the connector system and the length. A 2.5 meter long SF3/8" measurement cable with a 4.3-10 male screw connector and 4.3-10 male right angle screw connector, for example, is specified as follows: JS38‑43MS43RS‑2M5‑I.
