The post-mask filter signal needs to be measured during installation and occasional maintenance. One way to accomplish this task is to forward the signal to a test load and measure its frequency response using a directional coupler. In order to forward the signal to the load without having to move the transmission lines a 3 port patch panel can be used. This is a simple way to switch the signal between the antenna (for normal operation) and the load (for testing and maintenance).
SPINNER has a complete solution to make this process easy, fast and failsafe. SPINNER integrated FOUR COMPONENTS - mask filter, load, directional coupler and patch panel – IN just ONE system. Keeping in mind the space limitation at many sites, the solution has been made as compact as possible.
The SPINNER 4 in 1 solutions are available for all power ranges. The systems are shipped fully assembled, tuned and measured.
The product BN 616665C3001 is one example of this approach, which is designed for applications up to 2.5 kW. It occupies less than 0.4 sqm and utilises a 6/170 mask filter and a 2.5 kW naturally cooled load. The 1 5/8” EIA connectors face upwards and are thus easily accessible for connection to rigid lines.
The SPINNER system BN 616669C3002, designed for higher powers levels, is suitable for all applications up to 15 kW. It features a 6/230 liquid cooled filter and our brand new 30 kW smart load. This system also includes a sensor to control the filter’s temperature. A power monitor can be mounted on the front panel upon request, in order to get a direct reading of the forward and reflected power. It also enables calculation and display of VSWR or handling of alarms beyond preset level.
